This pie recipe is one that my grandmother made since I was old enough to remember. It's a simple pie, actually makes 2 pies, but is very tasty. I have posted it just the same as my grandmother wrote it-I hold firm to those memories.

Ingredients

  • 1 - 20-oz. can crushed pineapple
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 - medium sized bananas
  • 1 - 16-oz. container cool whip
  • 2 - 9 inch graham cracker pie crust
  • - cherries for decorating

How To Make banana fruit pie

  • Step 1
    Mix pineapple, sugar, cornstarch and butter in medium sized saucepan on top of stove over medium heat until mixture thickens, stirring constantly. Remove from stove.
  • Step 2
    Cut 1 banana for each pie shell in slices and place in bottom of each pie crust. Pour 1/2 of hot mixture evenly over bananas in pie crusts and allow to cool.
  • Step 3
    When completely cool, top with cool whip and decorate with cherries.
  • Step 4
    Keep in refrigerator over night before serving the next day.
