This pie recipe is one that my grandmother made since I was old enough to remember. It's a simple pie, actually makes 2 pies, but is very tasty. I have posted it just the same as my grandmother wrote it-I hold firm to those memories.

Ingredients

20-oz. can crushed pineapple
3 Tbsp
butter
2 Tbsp
cornstarch
1 c
sugar
2
medium sized bananas
1
16-oz. container cool whip
2
9 inch graham cracker pie crust
cherries for decorating

How to Make Banana Fruit Pie

Step-by-Step

  • 1Mix pineapple, sugar, cornstarch and butter in medium sized saucepan on top of stove over medium heat until mixture thickens, stirring constantly. Remove from stove.
  • 2Cut 1 banana for each pie shell in slices and place in bottom of each pie crust. Pour 1/2 of hot mixture evenly over bananas in pie crusts and allow to cool.
  • 3When completely cool, top with cool whip and decorate with cherries.
  • 4Keep in refrigerator over night before serving the next day.
