My Aunt Leslie makes the best pie crust around. It's always light and flaky, and it just melts in your mouth!! This recipe makes enough for a top and bottom crust for a 9" pie pan.

Ingredients

2 c
all purpose flour
1 c
vegetable shortening
1/2 Tbsp
sugar
1/2 tsp
white vinegar
1 large
egg
1/2 c
water

How to Make Aunt Leslie's Pie Crust

Step-by-Step

  • 1In a small bowl, whisk together the vinegar, egg and water until well combined. Set aside.
  • 2In a second bowl combine the flour and sugar, cutting in the shortening until crumbly and about the size of peas.
  • 3Combine all ingredients until just incorporated (too much mixing will make the crust tough!). Form into a ball, wrap in tin foil and place in the fridge for 1/2 hour, then roll out.
