aunt leslie's pie crust
My Aunt Leslie makes the best pie crust around. It's always light and flaky, and it just melts in your mouth!! This recipe makes enough for a top and bottom crust for a 9" pie pan.

- 1 cup vegetable shortening
- 1/2 tablespoon sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon white vinegar
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 cup water
How To Make aunt leslie's pie crust
-
Step 1In a small bowl, whisk together the vinegar, egg and water until well combined. Set aside.
-
Step 2In a second bowl combine the flour and sugar, cutting in the shortening until crumbly and about the size of peas.
-
Step 3Combine all ingredients until just incorporated (too much mixing will make the crust tough!). Form into a ball, wrap in tin foil and place in the fridge for 1/2 hour, then roll out.
