tart apples, peeled, cored, sliced
4 Tbsp
sugar or brown sugar
1 Tbsp
1 Tbsp
lemon juice
1/4 c
butter, softened
1/2 c
2 Tbsp
2 Tbsp
1 tsp
3 oz
almonds, sliced
sour cream

How to Make Apple Pie Caramel Almond


  • 1In small bowl, stir together flour, sugar and salt.
  • 2With fork, beat together salad oil and milk.
  • 3Stir oil mix into flour mix to make a soft dough.
  • 4Press dough into 9 inch pie plate or 10 inch shallow au-gratin dish.
  • 5Press edges to make sides about 1 inch high in gratin dish; make sides come to top of pie plate.
  • 6Bake at 425 for 10-12 minutes or until golden.
  • 7While crust bakes, prepare apples.
  • 8Mix with sugar, cornstarch and lemon juice.
  • 9Turn into baked pie shell.
  • 10Melt butter in skillet.
  • 11Add sugar, flour, cinnamon and almonds.
  • 12Boil 1 minute, stirring.
  • 13Pour over apples in pan to coat evenly.
  • 14Bake at 425 for 25-30 minutes or until caramel topping is golden and bubbly.
  • 15Cool before serving.
  • 16Serve with sour cream, or lightly sweetened whipped cream.
