Is this decadent enough for you? Another variation could be using peach pie filling and either vanilla or peach ice cream. I want to try both! Recipe & photo: Simple & Delicious 07-15-2016

Ingredients

  • 1 can (21 oz.) apple pie filling
  • 1 - graham cracker pie crust
  • 2 cups butter pecan ice cream, softened if necessary
  • 1 jar (12 oz.) hot caramel ice cream topping
  • 1/4 cup chopped pecans, toasted

How To Make apple pie a la mode

  • Step 1
    Spread half of the pie filling over crust. Top with half of the ice cream; freeze for 30 minutes.
  • Step 2
    Drizzle with half of the caramel topping; layer with remaining pie filling. Freeze 30 minutes.
  • Step 3
    Scoop remaining ice cream over top. Freeze, covered, until firm.
  • Step 4
    Remove from freezer 30 minutes before serving. In a microwave, warm remaining caramel topping. Serve pie with warm caramel toppping; sprinkle with pecans.
  • Step 5
    TO ROAST NUTS: spread in a 15x10x1 in. baking pan. Bake at 350º for 5-10 minutes or until lightly browned, stirring occasionally. Or, heat in a dry nonstick skillet over low heat until lightly browned, stirring occasionally.
