Yummy - this apple pie recipe is perfect! With just the right mix of apples and pecans, you get a bit of crunch in every bite. The generous portion of brown sugar caramelizes while baking which adds to the wonderful flavor.

2pie crust shells

6 ccored, sliced granny smith apples

1-1/2 cpecan halves

1-1/8 tspground cinnamon

1/2 tspnutmeg

1-1/2 cbrown sugar

1/2 cwhite sugar

2 Tbsplemon juice, fresh

3 Tbspall-purpose flour

1 Tbspapple pie spice

1 tspvanilla extract
How to Make Apple Pecan Pie
- In bowl mix well lemon juice, flour, white sugar, spices, and vanilla. Add sliced apples and toss until coated. Pour evenly into piecrust. Cover with 2nd pie crust folding over sides and crimping together. (Don't worry how this looks as it is the bottom of your pie.) Poke holes at random with fork for release of steam.
- Bake in 450 oven for 10 minutes. Reduce heat to 350 for 45 minutes.
- Remove from oven. Let cool until bubbling stops. IMPORTANT: Flip pie pecan side up, and serve hot. The pecans should be very shiny. Serve with ice cream.
