This is the most addicting pie I have ever had! Perfect for fall. Serve with a side of vanilla ice cream and you are set. One of my families favorite desserts when we have people over.

brown sugar

rolled oats

How to Make Apple Crumble Pie


  • 1Preheat oven to 350° F. Pie dough: mix sugar,salt, and flour in a bowl.
  • 2Take butter and cut into flour mixture with a pastry cutter. Do this until it turns into pea size.
  • 3Add water slowly and knead into dough until moistened. (you may not use all of the water so don't add all at once) Knead until a dough is formed. Wrap and refrigerate until firm or overnight.
  • 4On a floured table roll out dough into a 8-9 inch pie tin. ( I spray my tin before placing dough into it) roll dough into it and make a nice crust, cut off any extra hanging over the edge.
  • 5Take fork and dock dough ( put tiny holes) in bottom of crust so it doesn't puff up when baking. Let crust rest. (you can wrap and refrigerate if you want)
  • 6In a bowl combine sliced apples, butter,cinnamon,nutmeg,tapioca, vanilla extract, and sugar. Pour into pie crust and pat down so all is even.
  • 7To make topping: In a bowl combine flour,cinnamon,brown sugar, and oats. Cut in butter with a pastry cutter until mixture is crumbly.
  • 8Take the crumble and evenly spread it over apples making sure to cover all the apples.
  • 9Place pie on a sheet pan and place in oven for an hour. (Until the top is light brown and inside apples are soft: test with knife in center of the pie)
  • 10Let cool, cut and serve. Enjoy!
