apples, granny smith peeled, cored, and sliced
1 c
1 1/2 Tbsp
1 tsp
vanilla extract
2 Tbsp
corn starch
2 c
all purpose flour
3/4 tsp
2/3 c
butter flavor shortening
6-7 Tbsp
iced water
1 c
all purpose flour
1 Tbsp
1/2 c
butter, cold

How to Make Apple Crisp Pie


  • 1Peel, core, and slice apples. Splash with lemon juice.
  • 2Add cinnamon, sugar, vanilla, and corn starch and set aside.
  • 3Mix flour and salt. Cut shortening into flour and add water until a soft dough takes form. Set in refrigerator for half hour.
  • 4Mix four, cinnamon, and butter until crumbly.
  • 5Roll out dough to fit into an 8x11 casserole dish. Trim edges.
  • 6Pour in apple filling and top with crumb mixture. Bake in a 350' oven for 1 hour or until juice are bubbling.
