I make apple butter every year from our own apples so when my mom saw this recipe on a postcard she bought it and mailed it to me. I made it for Thanksgiving dinner and everyone loved it!

Ingredients

  • PIE
  • 1 cup canned pumpkin puree
  • 1 cup apple butter
  • 1/4 cup dark brown sugar
  • 1 - 9 in. unbaked deep dish pie crust
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup evaporated milk
  • STREUSEL TOPPING:
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup dark brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans

How To Make apple butter pumpkin pie

  • Step 1
    Pie Directions: Preheat oven to 350. In a large bowl, combine pumpkin, apple butter, 1/4 c. brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Stir in eggs and evaporated milk. Pour into prepared pie shell.
  • Step 2
    Bake in preheated oven for 50-60 minutes. Sprinkle streusel topping over the pie and bake for an additional 15 minutes.
  • Step 3
    Streusel Topping Directions: In a small bowl, combine butter, flour, and 1/4 cup brown sugar. Stir until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in pecans.
