Ingredients

  • 1 1/3 c
    graham cracker crumbs
  • 6 Tbsp
    butter or margarine, melted
  • 3
    egg yolks
  • 1 (14 oz) can(s)
    sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/2 c
    fresh lime juice
  • 1 tsp
    lime zest
  • 1 c
    heavy whipping cream

How to Make Amish Key Lime Pie

Step-by-Step

  1. For the crust: Preheat oven to 350 F.
  2. Combine graham cracker crumbs and melted butter; press mixture against sides and bottom of 9-inch pie pan.
  3. Bake for 5 minutes; cool completely.
  4. To make the filling: Beat egg yolks until thick, about 4 minutes.
  5. Beat in condensed milk, lime juice, and lime zest.
  6. Pour into cooled graham cracker crust.
  7. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours.
  8. Before serving, beat heavy whipping cream until stiff (do not sweeten), and spoon over pie.
