Ingredients

  • CRUST
  • 2/3 cup graham cracker crumbs (about 14 squares)
  • 1/4 cup butter or margarine, melted
  • 1/2 cup slivered almonds, broken
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • FILLING
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 - eggs
  • 1 cup cherries
  • TOPPING
  • 1 pint sour cream
  • 5 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
  • OPTIONAL GARNISH
  • - slivered almonds
  • - maraschino cherries

How To Make almond cherry cheesecake (oven version)

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
  • Step 2
    Mix crust ingredients and press onto bottom and sides of 9-inch pie pan.
  • Step 3
    Beat cream cheese and sugar until fluffy.
  • Step 4
    Mix in eggs until creamy and smooth.
  • Step 5
    Stir in cherries.
  • Step 6
    Pour cream cheese mixture into crust.
  • Step 7
    Bake at 375 degrees F for 20 minutes.
  • Step 8
    Let pie cool for 10 minutes.
  • Step 9
    Mix topping ingredients, except almonds.
  • Step 10
    Pour over pie.
  • Step 11
    Bake pie at 375 degrees F for 5 minutes.
  • Step 12
    Top or garnish with silvered almonds, if used.
  • Step 13
    Cool pie for 8 hours or overnight before serving.
  • Step 14
    Garnish with cherries, if desired.
