Ingredients
- 1/4 cup light brown sugar
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon flour
- 1 teaspoon grated lemon peel
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 6 medium tart apples, peeled and sliced
- - 2 pie crusts - 1 for bottom and 1 for top
- 1 - beaten egg
- 1 teaspoon sugar
How To Make all american apple pie

Step 1Preheat oven to 425 degrees

Step 2In a large bowl combine brown and white sugar, flour, lemon peel, cinnamon and nutmeg. Mix well. Add apples to bowl and stir until well coated, stir in raisins.

Step 3Spoon into prepared pie shell and dot with butter and sprinkle with about 1 tbsp. lemon juice or to taste depending on the tartness of your apples.

Step 4Top with remaining crust and slit the top with a knife. Now brush with 1 beaten egg and sprinkle with 1 teaspoon of sugar. Bake until pie is golden brown about 35-40 minutes. Cool 30 minutes. 425 degrees
