"a" for apple pie

Was fooling around one day and thought I would make my apple pie a little different. I started adding things I had never used before and it turned out so good that my family ate the whole thing after dinner.

Ingredients

  • 8 - granny smith apples
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1/2 tablespoon butter
  • 3 tablespoons cinnamon
  • 1 jar of your favorte carmel topping
  • 2 cups chopped walnuts
  • 1/3 cup dried cranberries
  • 1/3 cup dark risins
  • - your favorite double pie crust recipe or a box of 2 crust from your store
  • 1 - egg, beaten to brush on top of pie

How To Make "a" for apple pie

  • Step 1
    Preheat your oven to 350
  • Step 2
    Peel and slice your apples and place in a large bowl. Sprinkle enough flour or corn startch to cover all the apple slices.
  • Step 3
    Using a deep dish pie plate. Place the first pie crust on the bottom of your pie plate.
  • Step 4
    Pour in your carmel sauce, sprinkle with chopped walnuts, dried cranberries and raisins.
  • Step 5
    Place sliced apples evenly over all and sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon. Place the butter in dots across the top of mixture.
  • Step 6
    Place top crust on pie and turn ends under to seal and decorate as disired.
  • Step 7
    Brush pie with beaten egg using a pastry brush and sprinkle a little sugar on it.
  • Step 8
    Place strips of foil around edges to prevent burning and place in oven.
  • Step 9
    Bake for 45 minutes to an hour or until top crust is golden brown.
  • Step 10
    Remove from oven and place on rack to cool.
  • Step 11
    Serve by itself or with ice cream or whipped cream.
