- 2 - large tart apples
- 1 1/2 cups brown sugar
- 1/2-1 cup chopped nuts
- 1 cup flour
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/2 pint heavy cream, whipped

Step 1Pare apples and slice fine. Arrange a layer on a pie plate and sprinkle with one-half cup of the sugar. Put in another layer of apples and cover with a mixture of the remaining sugar, flour, butter, and nuts, creamed together. Bake in a moderate oven - about an hour. Serve warm with the whipped cream.
