Remember the 13 Colonies? Plymouth Rock? The First Thanksgiving? (Well... if you do.... YOU ARE OLD!! lol) OK.... this is a recipe for pie that was probably made way back in the day..... It is a bit different than the pumpkin pies we are use to now.

Ingredients
- PIE FILLING
- 4 cups thouroughly mashed pumpkin, drained and cooled
- 1/2 cup dark molasses
- 4 large eggs (beaten well)
- 4 cups milk
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon ginger
- 1 teaspoon salt
- PIE SHELLS
- 2 - pie crusts
How To Make 13 colonies molasses pumpkin pie

Step 1Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

Step 2Stir together well all of the pie filling ingredients. Divide the batter into two pie shells. Bake for 10 minutes at 400 degrees, then lower the heat to 350 degrees and bake 35 to 40 minutes longer, (or until center of pie filling is firmed up enough to allow the tip of a knife to be dipped into the center of the filling and come out "clean").
