If you can make Rice Crispy Treats, you can make these I used to call these Hippy Bars but all my co-workers would ask if there was 'weed' in them, including my Head Chef, so i had to change the name lol.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups puffed rice cereal
  • 3 cups oatmeal, uncooked
  • 1 cup chopped nuts (i like peanuts and almonds, but use what you like)
  • 1 cup dried fruit, chopped into bitesize peices if necessary- use whatever you like, i've done a tropical mix of pineapple, mango and papya that was awsomesauce. apricot, cran, raisin is good too
  • 1 package marshmallows
  • 1 cup peanut butter, creamy
  • 1 stick butter

How To Make trail mix bars

  • Step 1
    preheat oven to 375, toss together rice cereal, oatmeal, and nuts
  • Step 2
    spead evenly on 1/2 sheet pan, toast til lightly browned, about 10-15 min, stirring halfway through
  • Step 3
    Meanwhile, melt together butter, peanutbutter and marshmellows, stirring til well blended and all melty
  • Step 4
    In large bowl, mix the cereal mixture and fruit. Coat dry mix with the melty goo, working quickly
  • Step 5
    Pour mix into well greased pan, 8x8, 9x9, or 13x9. Cover with plastic wrap
  • Step 6
    Press mix til top is flat and even. Refridgerate overnight
  • Step 7
    Depan, and cut into bars/squares
