thick and chewy rice krispie bars

These are thicker than the original Kelloggs bars. The Kelloggs recipe uses 3 T. butter, 6 cups krispies, and about 40 marshmallows..(10 ounces).

Ingredients

  • 9 cups rice krispies
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 75 large marshmallows

How To Make thick and chewy rice krispie bars

  • Step 1
    In a large heavy bottom pan, melt butter and add marshmallows over low to medium heat.
  • Step 2
    Stir constantly until completely melted.
  • Step 3
    Remove from heat. Add rice krispies and stir until completely coated with marshmallows. At this point you may stir in chopped peanuts. I do.
  • Step 4
    Spread into greased 9x13 pan. Cut and enjoy.
