This is one of my favorite treats I've always made for Christmas. My daughter loves it & specifically requests it every year, as this is her "to die for & must have" treat...

Ingredients

  • 5 cups cake crumbs
  • 1/2 cup raisins or currants
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 4 tablespoons warmed & sieved apricot jam
  • 1 tablespoon dark rum
  • - enough chocolate sprinkles to coat all 15 balls

How To Make tea-time truffles/rum balls

  • Step 1
    Mix 1st 3 ingredients in a large bowl.
  • Step 2
    Then add in the jam & rum & mix in well to a stiff paste.
  • Step 3
    Form into balls, the size you like & immediately roll it in the chocolate rice, before it dries out.
  • Step 4
    Either chill the truffles or serve immediately.
