This was brought to a recent meeting of the Curious Cuisiners. After tasting it I saved the recipe so I could make it for neighborhood gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 1 package yellow cake mix
  • 1 jar strawberry jam
  • 1 package coconut cookies
  • 1 can strawberry pie filling
  • 1 package cool whip
  • 1/2 cup coconut
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries

How To Make strawberry coconut trifle

  • Step 1
    Bake cake in two 8 inch pans as directed on box. Save one cake for another time and freeze. Break up one cake in large trifle or glass bowl.
  • Step 2
    Heat jam in microwave for 30 seconds. Pour over cake in bowl.
  • Step 3
    Spread 1/2 of the Cool Whip over the mixture.
  • Step 4
    Break up enough coconut cookies to create a layer over the Cool Whip.
  • Step 5
    Layer strawberry pie filling over cookies.
  • Step 6
    Spread balance of Cool Whip over the pie filling
  • Step 7
    Toast 1/2 cup of coconut and spread over Cool Whip.
  • Step 8
    If desired layer more broken coconut cookies.
  • Step 9
    Top with fresh strawberries.
