I was planning a baby shower menu when I spotted this recipe in the local newspaper. It was tweeked a bit to my taste. The recipe is easy and delicious. Not a drop of it wasleft after the party because everyone went back of seconds! Would be great for Memorial day or July 4th since it's red, white and blue. Enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 2 c
    each: blueberries and sliced strawberries.
  • 1 c
    raspberries
  • 3/4 c
    confectioners' sugar
  • 3 tsp
    pure vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 c
    heavy cream
  • 1 tsp
    pure orange extract
  • 1/4 c
    sour cream
  • 4 c
    angle food cake, cubed

How to Make Scrumpious Berry Trifle

Step-by-Step

  1. Note: Two hours of the prep. time is for the dessert to be in the refrigerator.
  2. Toss berries with 1/4 cup confectioners' sugar and add 2 teaspoons vanilla.
  3. Beat cream with remaining confectioners' sugar, 1 teaspoons vanilli and orange extract until soft peaks form.
  4. Fold sour cream into whipping cream mixture.
  5. In a glass serving bowl, layer 1/2 each of cake cubes, berry mixture and whipped cream mixture.
    Repeat layers.
  6. Add whichever berry you want on top for decoration and refrigerate 2 hours.
  7. Enjoy!
