Personal favorite of the family this recipe stems from Greece and Turkey, my Greek Aunt used to bake this all the time when I was a kid and was the only thing my brother and I would always request. so light and citrusy but not over the top, very easy to make!

Ingredients
- 1/2 stick butter or margarine
- 3/4 cup white sugar ( or substitute splenda )
- 1 cup farina - or cream of wheat
- 1 cup flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 6 - eggs beaten well
- 1 - lemon zest, grated ( save orange for later )
- 1/2 cup orange juice, fresh
- 1 cup almonds, chopped fine
How To Make revani

Step 1mix butter and sugar until light and creamy.

Step 2add farina and mix well.

Step 3Add the eggs one at a time and mix after adding each egg until well blended.

Step 4Mix alternately the wet and dry ingredients incorporating them together.

Step 5Bake cake in a 11x7 glass pyrex for 30 minutes in a 350'F degree oven. Make syrup once cake is almost done baking.

Step 6Simple Syrup: 2 cups white sugar 2 cups water lemon and orange slices ( i use oranges only and squeeze some of the juice in the syrup ) 1 cinnamon stick 1/4 tsp nutmeg 4-6 cloves 1/4 tsp cardamom Boil for 15 min pour over semi cooled cake, cut into diamond shape pieces ( or whatever shape you like ).
