Ingredients

  • 1 or 2 - sara lee pound cake, thawed
  • 6 - heath bars or butterfingers, coarsely broken up
  • 1 cup chopped nuts
  • 1 quart fresh strawberries, destemmed & halved
  • 1 large tub cool whip or homemade whipping cream
  • - brandy (optional)

How To Make quick & easy trifle (sallye)

  • Step 1
    Cut cake into 1-2" squares De-stem and halve strawberries Break candy bars into chunks Chop nuts
  • Step 2
    In a glass trifle or deep serving bowl, layer the ingredients as follows: 1) smooth layer of cool whip on bottom 2) 1/2 of cake pieces 3) 1/2 of candy pieces 4) layer of cool whip 5) other 1/2 of cake pieces 6) 1/2 of strawberries 7) layer of cool whip 8) rest of candy pieces 9) rest of cool whip 10) Arrange rest of strawberries on top 11) sprinkle with chopped nuts Optional if desired: Drizzle brandy over cake when layering. Do not overdo or cool whip will separate.

    Garnish with fresh mint sprigs (optional) Refrigerate if not serving immediately
