I make this dessert often if a meal I am serving is a rich one. The pears are very delicate and look nice.

Ingredients

Add to Grocery List

  • 4¬6 large
    pears
  • 1 c
    sugar
  • 3 c
    red wine
  • 2 stick
    cinamonn

How to Make PEARS IN RED WINE SAUCE.

Step-by-Step

  1. put red wine, sugar and cinamonn in a sauce pan large enough to hold the pears whole. Heat and simmer until the liquid becomes a little dense about 10 min.
  2. meanwhile peel the pears but leave the stems on and even up at the bottom so that they stand up.
  3. place the pears in the sauce and spoon liquid over them so that they become pink from the wine. Cook until tender.
  4. serve room temperture standing so that the stems are up with some of the wine sauce. I also serve with hot chocolate sauce.
I serve the hot chocolate seperately so that everyone can serve themselves. Pears go real well with red wine and red wine goes real well with chocolate.
