This is a recipe from school I worked at in the 1970"s and was a favorite of the students and with my own children. Me to.

Ingredients

  • 7/8 cup butter soft
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 3 - eggs
  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 4 cups peanut butter or more
  • CHOCOLATE FROSTING
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons chocolate
  • - dash of salt
  • 2 tablespoons shortening or butter
  • - milk

How To Make peanut butter fudge bars

  • Step 1
    Read all instructions before you start. This recipe makes a 12"x17"x2" pan. Cut the recipe in half for a 9x13 Pan Mix the ingredients together and spread in pan. Bake at 350* 25 min. When bars start to rise, bump pan to cause them to fall. When a light brown remove and drop peanut butter all over the top,and when it melts enough, spread to cover the top. (I put quite a bit on) Cool until the peanut butter no longer shines. Cover with a chocolate frosting.

    The frosting should be the consistency of what you would put on a cake so you may have to adjust my measurments. Mix and cover the bars. Cool I hope you enjoy this recipe
