This is another one of my Mother's recipes. I don't know where she got it. It is a recipe that I asked for quite often as a child.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 c
    white corn syrup
  • 1/4 c
    brown sugar
  • 1 dash(es)
    salt
  • 1 c
    peanut butter
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla
  • 6 oz
    chocolate chips
  • 2 c
    rice krispies
  • 1 c
    crushed corn flakes

How to Make Peanut Butter Cereal Bars

Step-by-Step

  1. To a large cooking pot; bring to a boil the corn syrup, brown sugar and salt.
    Remove from heat.
  2. Add peanut butter, vanilla and chocolate chips. Stir until mixed.
  3. Add Rice Krispies and Corn Flakes.
    Stir until well coated.
  4. Pat into a buttered 9'x13' pan.
    Let set then cut into serving size pieces.
  5. Tip: If desired, you can substitute peanut butter chips for the chocolate chips.
