Ingredients
- 4 slices bread
- 1 cup milk
- 3 large eggs
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 stick butter
- 1 cup sifted flour
- 1 1/2 tablespoons cocoa (optional)
- 1/2 cup dried fruit
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon soda bicarbonate
- WHISKEY CREAM SAUCE
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 3 tablespoons maple syrup
- 2 tablespoons golden syrup
- 2 teaspoons whiskey
How To Make mama's steamed bread pudding

Step 1Soak the slices of bread(cut up into small pieces) in milk & set aside

Step 2Then cream the butter & sugar until light & fluffy, then add eggs and cream till all are mixed in.

Step 3Now add the soaked bread(reserve the milk) & add cocoa(optional) & sifted flour. If the mixture is too dry add a little more of the milk. The batter should be like cake batter.

Step 4Add fruits like raisins(Mama always added raisins), cranberry, or any other dried fruits. Add soda bicarb & Vanilla & mix all until well mixed.

Step 5Then pour it into a well greased pan & steam for about 30 mins or until the skewer comes out clean.

Step 6This can be eater warm with some whiskey cream sauce.

Step 7For the sauce, mix all the ingredients in a saucepan & heat & stir until it comes to a boil, then lower the heat & simmer for about 8-10 mins. Then take it off the heat & add in the whiskey....the amount is your preference.
