Miss Mom when I make these.

When baked each will have custard on the bottom and cake on top!

Ingredients

1 c
sugar
4 Tbsp
flour
1/8 tsp
salt
2 Tbsp
melted butter
one lemon rind, grated
5 Tbsp
lemon juice, fresh
1 1/2 c
whole milk
3
egg yolks, well beaten
3
egg whites, stiffly beaten

How to Make Lemon Cups

Step-by-Step

  • 1Oven at 325 degrees
  • 2Prepare a hot water bath - a 9 x 12 metal baking pan. Add enough water that would come up almost to top of GREASED custard cups (I heat this up in the oven while making recipe)
  • 3Combine sugar, flour, salt, butter
  • 4Mix juice and rind, and add to sugar mixture
  • 5Combine egg yolks and milk and add to above mixture. Mix well
  • 6Fold in egg whites, pour into greased custard cups
  • 7Bake in pan of hot water (water bath) for approximtely 45 minutes
