This is another one of those recipes that my family has made for years and we all fight over to bring home after holiday dinners... if there is any left.

Ingredients
- KRINGLE
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup butter
- dash salt
- 2 teaspoons almond extract...or to taste
- 1 cup flour
- 4 - eggs... room temperature
- FROSTING
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 2 1/2 tablespoons cream
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 1 teaspoon almond extract
- TOPPING
- 1 cup almonds, slivered

Step 1Preheat oven 450. Bring water, butter, salt , and almond extract to a boil...

Step 2Let cool slightly...Add flour and mix well

Step 3Add eggs one at a time making sure each egg gets mixed in well.

Step 4Spread out onto a cookie sheet lined with parchment or sprayed with cooking spray. I do mine in a circle or you can do it in one long piece, about 1/2 inch thick.

Step 5Bake for 15 min at 450 ...DO NOT OPEN THE DOOR! Then turn over down and bake at 325 for 35 min. STILL DO NOT OPEN THE DOOR.

Step 6Once out of the oven let cool slightly and using a fork poke holes in it.

Step 7Mix well frosting ingredients.

Step 8Once it has cooled but still warm top with butter cream frosting and slivered almonds.
