My neighbor made this for a block party and was kind enough to share the recipe. I included her notes about greasing the parchment paper and also how to remove it.

prep time 15 Min
cook time 30 Min
method Bake
yield 16-24 serving(s)

Ingredients

  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons almond extract
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1/3 cup sliced almonds

How To Make judy's easy almond slice

  • Step 1
Preheat oven to 350ºF. Beat egg until fluffy, add sugar and continue beating until blended.
  • Step 2
Slowly mix in the flour, almond extract and melted butter to form a tick, smooth batter.
  • Step 3
Pour into a round 8 or 9 inch pan (see Note about how to prepare pan)
  • Step 4
Sprinkle with almonds. Bake for about 30 minutes or until lightly browned.
  • Step 5
Cool slightly and remove parchment paper. Cut into 16-24 wedged, depending on how large you want the slices.
  • Step 6
Note to prepare pan: grease pan, top with a circle of parchment paper, then generously grease the parchment, too. When removing parchment, try to lift up one side of the tart and pull out the parchment in one piece.
