My neighbor made this for a block party and was kind enough to share the recipe. I included her notes about greasing the parchment paper and also how to remove it.

Ingredients
- 1 egg
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoons almond extract
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- 1/3 cup sliced almonds
How To Make judy's easy almond slice
-
Step 1Preheat oven to 350ºF. Beat egg until fluffy, add sugar and continue beating until blended.
-
Step 2Slowly mix in the flour, almond extract and melted butter to form a tick, smooth batter.
-
Step 3Pour into a round 8 or 9 inch pan (see Note about how to prepare pan)
-
Step 4Sprinkle with almonds. Bake for about 30 minutes or until lightly browned.
-
Step 5Cool slightly and remove parchment paper. Cut into 16-24 wedged, depending on how large you want the slices.
-
Step 6Note to prepare pan: grease pan, top with a circle of parchment paper, then generously grease the parchment, too. When removing parchment, try to lift up one side of the tart and pull out the parchment in one piece.
