For this Scottish recipe you can vary by adding 1/2 cup shredded cheese. Simple recipe for a brunch or anytime. Can freeze in plastic bag for they don't keep long.

Ingredients

2 c
flour
1 Tbsp
sugar
1 tsp
cream of tartar
1/2 tsp
baking soda
1/2 tsp
salt
4 Tbsp
cold butter;diced
2/3 c
milk
1/2 c
chopped walnuts;optional
2 Tbsp
honey

Step-By-Step

1In blender or food processor mix flour,sugar,cream of tartar,baking soda and salt until blended.Add butter and mix till resembles coarse meal.
2Put in bowl and make a well in the center of mixture.Pour milk and honey into well.
3Stir to form a soft dough and add walnuts.
4Press dough into 1/2 thick round on a floured surface. Cut into 8 wedges like cutting a pie.
5Put wedges onto greased baking sheet and bake 15 minutes until golden at 400 degrees.
