i just got this recipe from my grandma she makes these so good in the recipe it does not have anything that butterscotch is in it so i figure it makes its own as it cooks they are great and taste like butterscotch

brown sugar
1/4 c
butter, melted
1 tsp
vanilla extract

powdered sugar

How to Make Grandpas Favorite Butterscotch Brownies


  • 1preheat oven to 325.
  • 2grease 8x8 inch pan. combine the dry ingredients into a medium sized bowl, set aside.
  • 3mix the eggs, butter and vanilla together until combined. stir in dry ingredients.
  • 4pour into prepared pan and bake for 40 minutes. while brownies are baking make the frosting.
  • 5combine brown sugar and butter and bring to a boil, stirring constantly.
  • 6add milk and powdered sugar and heat until thick. if you overheat the frosting will be to dry so stop when it becomes thick.
  • 7spread frosting onto hot brownies and cool to room temperature before slicing.
