This recipe is straight from my Grandma Josephine. She always had some kind of treat for us even though she said she would never spoil her grandchildren!!! She even had a little draw stocked with M&Ms for us when ever we came over.

butter, melted
3/4 c
brown sugar, firmly packed
1 c
flour
1 c
oatmeal
1/2 tsp
baking soda
1/4 tsp
salt
1 tsp
pure vanilla extract
1 c
chopped pecans
1
bag of chocolate chunks
1 jar(s)
caramel sauce

How to Make Grandma's Carmelita's

Step-by-Step

  • 1Combine first 7 ingredients and press into a 9" x 13" pan. Bake for 10 minutes at 350 degrees.
  • 2Sprinkle the pecans and chocolate on the crust and top with the caramel. Bake for another 20 minutes.
