How to Make Grandma Kiwacka's Doughnuts
- Beat eggs. Mix in shortening and sugar. Add buttermilk, baking powder, baking soda, salt, nutmeg, cinnamon, and flour.
- Turn onto lightly floured board, knead 5 or 6 times. Cut with doughnut cutter.
- Roll out gently 1/3" thick. Let rest for 20 minutes.
- Fry in hot fat until brown. Turn as they rise to the surface and show a little color. Drain on absorbent paper.
