I absolutely love gingerbread and my mom makes it for me,especially in the winter time. I love gingerbread and a hot cup of coffee.

Ingredients

1 1/2 c
all purpose flour
3/4 tsp
ground ginger
3/4 tsp
ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp
baking powder
1/2 tsp
baking soda
1/2 tsp
salt
1/2 c
shortening
1/4 c
packed brown sugar
1
egg
1/2 c
molasses
1/2 c
boiling water

How to Make Gingerbread

Step-by-Step

  • 1Grease and lightly flour a 9x1 1/2 inch round baking pan.
  • 2Combine the first 6 ingredients in a mixer bowl and beat shortening on medium speed for about 30 seconds.
  • 3Add brown sugar,beat till fluffy.Add egg and molasses and beat for 1 minute.
  • 4Add dry ingredients and water alternately to beaten mixture,beating after each addition.
  • 5Pour into prepared pan. Bake at 350 for 30 to 35 minutes or till done. Cool and serve!
