Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
- 3/4 teaspoon ground ginger
- 3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 - egg
- 1/2 cup molasses
- 1/2 cup boiling water
How To Make gingerbread

Step 1Grease and lightly flour a 9x1 1/2 inch round baking pan.

Step 2Combine the first 6 ingredients in a mixer bowl and beat shortening on medium speed for about 30 seconds.

Step 3Add brown sugar,beat till fluffy.Add egg and molasses and beat for 1 minute.

Step 4Add dry ingredients and water alternately to beaten mixture,beating after each addition.

Step 5Pour into prepared pan. Bake at 350 for 30 to 35 minutes or till done. Cool and serve!
