Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 cup hot water
- 1/2 cup butter, room temp
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup molasses
- ICING
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1-2 tablespoon milk
How To Make ginger bars

Step 1Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease a 9 X 13 inch pan. Combine flour, spices, and salt. In a small bowl, dissolve the baking soda in the hot water. Stir in the molasses.

Step 2In a large bowl, cream the butter and brown sugar. Beat in the eggs. Beat in the molasses mixture. Gradually blend in the dry ingredients. Spread the dough into the pan. Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.

Step 3For the icing: Combine powdered sugar and milk until smooth and desired consistency. Frost bars while still warm. Cool before cutting.
