Ingredients For funnel cakes

1 cunbleached all-purpose flour

2 Tbspgranulated sugar

3/4 tspbaking powder

1/4 tspground cinnamon

1/4 tspground Himalayan pink salt

1 lgfree-range egg, room temperature

1 cmilk
-
1/2 tsppure vanilla extract

7 to 8 ccanola oil or as needed, for frying

1/4 cpowdered sugar or as needed, for dusting
How To Make funnel cakes

1In a bowl, add flour, sugar, baking powder, ground cinnamon, and salt; whisk to combine.

2In another bowl, add egg, milk, and vanilla extract; whisk to blend.

3Add wet ingredients to dry ingredients, whisking continuously until the batter is smooth with no lumps in it; set aside.

4In a medium skillet over medium heat, add oil to cover the bottom by about 2 inches.

5When the temperature reaches 375ºF, slowly pour in a thin stream about ¼ cup of batter, in a circular motion to create about a 5-inch circle, slightly overlapping. Fry until golden, about 1 minute 30 seconds per side.

6Carefully transfer the cake to a plate lined with paper towels while frying the remaining batter.

7Sprinkle cakes with confectioners’ sugar while the cakes are still warm.
