Fluffy Frosting or Filling
1 1/2 cgranulated sugar
1/4 call purpose flour
1 1/2 cwhole milk
2 tsppure vanilla extract
1 stickbutter, room temperature
1 cconfectioners' sugar
16 ozcream cheese, room temperature (if making cream cheese frosting/filling)
How to Make Fluffy Frosting or Filling
- In a bowl combine sugar, flour, cornstartch, salt and milk. Whisk together until smooth.
- Put mixture in to a saucepan and cook on the stove until mixture is boiling and thick (takes about 5-8 minutes). Then pour mixture in to a separate bowl and let it cool to room temperature. You may also cool it in the fridge, but the mixture needs to be at room temperature in order for the other ingredients to mix properly! (I just leave mine on the counter top covered with a paper towel until it is cooled.)
- After mixture is completed cooled add the butter and mix on medium speed until blended. Then slowly add in confectioner's sugar and blend until fluffy. You may also add 16 oz. of cream cheese at this time for cream cheese filling.
- Place in fridge until cold before decorating or filling your dessert! Enjoy!
