Ingredients
- FILLING:
- 2 1/2 cups dewberries (or blackberries)
- 2-4 tablespoons honey
- 2 tablespoons tapioca flour
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- - zest of 1/2 lemon
- DUMPLING:
- 1/4 cup coconut flour
- 3/4 cup almond flour
- 3 tablespoons coconut oil
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
- 2 - eggs
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- - zest of 1/2 lemon
How To Make dewberry dumplings

Step 1For dumplings: sift flours, baking powder and salt. Cut in cold coconut oil with fork until crumbly. Place in freezer for 10 minutes.

Step 2Preheat oven 400.

Step 3For filling: In a medium saucepan add berries, honey, pepper and zest. Heat over medium and bring to simmer. Whisk in tapioca flour and simmer 10 minutes.

Step 4Pour hot berries into casserole dish and place in oven.

Step 5In medium bowl beat eggs, honey, lemon zest, cinnamon and vanilla. Add chilled flour mixture to eggs and mix until dough comes together.

Step 6Carefully remove dish from oven and drop 8 dumplings onto bubbling berries. Return to oven and bake 15-20 minutes, until dumplings are golden, set and cooked through.

Step 7Remove dish from oven and allow to cool completely and serve at room temperature.
