My best friend gave me this recipe, and I have never met one person that didn't LOVE it.

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla
  • 3/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup mini semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 3/4 cup pecans, finely chopped (optional)

How To Make dessert ball

  • Step 1
Beat cream cheese, butter, and vanilla until fluffy. Gradually add sugars and beat until just combined. Stir in chocolate chips (and nuts, if using them).
  • Step 2
Cover and refrigerate for 2 hours.
  • Step 3
Place onto a large piece of wax paper and shape into a ball, then refrigerate for 1 hour more.
  • Step 4
Serve with graham cracker sticks, Oreo sticks, strawberries ... the possibilities are endless. *IMPORTANT* - If you want to form it into a ball, you must use real butter. If you would rather use margarine, you can, but it will not form a ball shape no matter how long it stays in the fridge. In that case, you can put it into a bowl and just dip into it with your cookies or fruit. Same taste, just different presentation.
