You'll be so thankful for this one. Words cannot express how good these are. A delight for Breakfast or Tea, or for any occasion. These also freeze well. Wonderful Served Warm or @ room temperature, or just for a snack. These were once served at a bed and breakfast. .

Ingredients

  • 1 C + 1 tablespoons butter
  • 2 C - flour
  • 1 tsp - almond extract
  • 3 - eggs
  • 2 C - pdr sugar
  • 4 Tbs - ceam
  • 1 tsp - pure vanilla extract
  • 1/8 tsp - salt
  • 2 Tbs - cold water
  • 1 C - boiling water

How To Make danish homemade pastry by freda

  • Step 1
    Preheat Oven @ 400. Measure all ingredients, & read directions thoroughly before starting.
  • Step 2
    cut 1/2 C butter into 1 cup flour, until mixture resembles coarse meal: ADD; 2 Tbs Cold water, stir till well Blended. Divide Dough in 1/2.
  • Step 3
    Press each 1/2 into 3" X 12" Rectangle on ungreased baking sheet.
  • Step 4
    In med Saucepan, Add; 1 C boiling water,& 1/2 C Butter, Add almond flavoring; Remove from Heat. Stir in remaining flour; add eggs one at a time, Beating well after each. SPREAD over pastry rectangles.
  • Step 5
    BAKE @ 400 for 50 Min.
  • Step 6
    in Med Bowl, combine remaining butter, Pdr Sgr, cream, vanilla, and salt; Beat until smooth. Frost Hot Pastry. Drizzle, or spread heated just to warm stage, (NOT HOT) Raspberry, Strawberry or Black berry Jam down the centers of each rectangle. Even a little cream cheese @ room temp. spread down the centers is optional. add; a sprinkle of ground nuts is optional. Enjoy. . . . these are very easy to Put together folks will think you went to a lot of work, just for them.
