This is a very good but easy dessert to make in the crockpot. I have even added a cup of golden raisins for extra taste and texture. Great served warm with whipped cream or ice cream.

Ingredients

  • 4
    granny smith apples
  • 1
    loaf of white bread, cubed, crust removed and discarded
  • 1 tsp
    cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp
    nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp
    salt
  • 1 c
    brown sugar, packed
  • 1 stick
    butter or margarine

How to Make CROCKPOT APPLE BROWN BETTY

Step-by-Step

  1. Wash apples, peel, core, cut into eighths; place in bottom of crock.
  2. In a saucepan, melt the butter and stir in the brown sugar and spices.
  3. In a medium bowl, combine bread cubes, butter mixture; toss together. Pour on top of apples in the crock.
  4. Cover and cook on low setting 2 to 3 hours.
