Cream Puff Dessert

My aunt gave me this recipe years ago and it is a big hit at every event I bring it to. The best part is the mix and match pudding options that makes it perfect for everyone.

1/2 c
butter, room temperature
1 c
all purpose flour
1 c
3 pkg
(3.4 oz) instant pudding
3 c
milk (divided)
1 pkg
(8 oz) cream cheese
1 pkg
(8oz) container cool whip
syrup to garnish as desired


1A word about the pudding; you can mix and match as you see fit. Combinations that work well are one bananna and two vanilla, two chocolate and one vanilla, during the fall I have used two pumpkin spice and one vanilla.
2Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
3Bring water to a boil.
4Add butter to melt. Remove from heat. Add flour and mix well.
5Add eggs one at a time. Beat by hand.
6Pat lightly into greased 10x15 inch pan.
7Bake 15-20 minutes or until golden brown. Set aside.
8Mix 1/4 cup milk with cream cheese. Beat until creamy.
9Add remaining milk and pudding. Mix until blended.
10Spread evenly over cooled crust.
11Top with Cool Whip. Drizzle with chocolate syrup, strawberry syrup or carmel sauce as desired.
