1/2 cunsalted butter softened
8 ozcream cheese softened
1 1/2 tspvanilla extract
3 1/2 cpowdered sugar
How To Make cream cheese frosting
1Using a stand mixer (with paddle attachment) or hand mixer on high speed beat the cream cheese and butter until it is smooth and creamy with no lumps
2Turn the mixer to medium and add the vanilla extract and salt. Turn the mixer to low and gradually add the powdered sugar beating until well combined. Use 3 1/2 cups powdered sugar for non-piped frosting and 4 cups powdered sugar for pipeable frosting.
3Use on completely cooled cakes, cupcakes, and cookies.
