Coffee Pecan Chews

This is a secret family recipe so don't tell my mom I posted it. This recipe spans at least 3 generations of my family. I have no idea how old it is or who or where my grandmother got the recipe from. I do know that the recipe that my mom wrote out for me calls for butter or "oleo" and my grandmother always said that she never used anything but butter. "No matter how bad the Depression got, we always used butter, she would say". I've ONLY used butter because of this.

I usually have to explain "its like a brownie".
