ono butter mochi is what it is really called. I just love the coconut. I worked for a wonderful woman native to Hawaii and she taught me how to make it. many many years ago.
simply takes me back to Hawaii every time and all the great people .

Ingredients

mochiko (glutinous rice flour)
21/2 c
sugar
1 tsp
baking powder
1/2 c
butter, melted
3 c
whole milk
5
eggs
1 tsp
vanilla extract
1 c
sweet flaked coconut

How to Make coconut ono mochi

Step-by-Step

  • 1Preheat uven to 350, Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish
  • 2In medium bowl, whisk together the eggs,vanilla, and milk.In a large bowl , stir the rice flour,sugar, and baking powder.Pour wet into dry.stir to blend.
  • 3Mix in melted butter and coconut, Pour in pan.
  • 4bake 1 hour in preheated oven. cool completely . then cut into squares to serve.
