ono butter mochi is what it is really called. I just love the coconut. I worked for a wonderful woman native to Hawaii and she taught me how to make it. many many years ago. simply takes me back to Hawaii every time and all the great people .

Ingredients
- 1 pound mochiko (glutinous rice flour)
- 21/2 cups sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- 3 cups whole milk
- 5 - eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup sweet flaked coconut
How To Make coconut ono mochi

Step 1Preheat uven to 350, Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish

Step 2In medium bowl, whisk together the eggs,vanilla, and milk.In a large bowl , stir the rice flour,sugar, and baking powder.Pour wet into dry.stir to blend.

Step 3Mix in melted butter and coconut, Pour in pan.

Step 4bake 1 hour in preheated oven. cool completely . then cut into squares to serve.
