ono butter mochi is what it is really called. I just love the coconut. I worked for a wonderful woman native to Hawaii and she taught me how to make it. many many years ago. simply takes me back to Hawaii every time and all the great people .

Ingredients

  • 1 pound mochiko (glutinous rice flour)
  • 21/2 cups sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 3 cups whole milk
  • 5 - eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup sweet flaked coconut

How To Make coconut ono mochi

  • Step 1
    Preheat uven to 350, Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish
  • Step 2
    In medium bowl, whisk together the eggs,vanilla, and milk.In a large bowl , stir the rice flour,sugar, and baking powder.Pour wet into dry.stir to blend.
  • Step 3
    Mix in melted butter and coconut, Pour in pan.
  • Step 4
    bake 1 hour in preheated oven. cool completely . then cut into squares to serve.
