1Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease a 9-inch square baking pan. To make crust, cream the shortening and powdered sugar in a medium bowl. Gradually work in the flour. Press evenly in prepared pan. Bake for 14 minutes.
2Meanwhile, make the topping: In a large bowl, combine the condensed milk, butterscotch chips, coconut, and vanilla and stir until blended. Pour over the hot crust. Bake for 25-30 minutes longer, until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool before cutting.
