I love cheesecake, and oreos. Now that they have new chocolate mint oreos, my cheesecake might just end up with some mint flavoring crust and a touch of peppermint extract. After all, there is nothing better than chocolate, except just maybe, chocolate and mint! This is a great, very rich cheesecake.

Ingredients

  • 18 ounces oreo cookies, crushed
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 4 - 8 oz cream cheese
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1 package baker's semisweet baking chocolate, melted and cooled
  • 4 - eggs
  • 1/4 cup hazelnut liqueur, optional (i did not add)
  • - powdered sugar, optional topping
  • - berries, fresh, optional topping

How To Make chocolate royale cheesecake

  • Step 1
Mix crumbs and butter, press into bottom and a little up sides of a 9" Springform pan. Bake at 325 degrees for 10 min.
  • Step 2
Beat cream cheese, sugar, flour and vanilla with a mixer until well blended. Add chocolate, liqueur and eggs, mix just until blended and pour over crust. Bake at 325 degrees 55-60 min or until center is almost set. Run knife around rim of pan to loosen cake right away, but cool before removing sides. Refrigerate 4 hours or overnight (overnight is better). Garnish with sifted powdered sugar and mixed berries if you want.
  • Step 3
If using a dark nonstick pan, everything gets made as above, but reduce oven temp to 300 degrees and bake 60-65 min.
