This is one of my granddaughters favorite desserts. She requested it for her birthday instead of a traditional cake. My family likes it warm, not hot with ice cream.

Ingredients

FILLING

3/4 c
sugar
1 c
flour
1/4 tsp
salt
2 tsp
baking powder
2 Tbsp
unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 c
milk
3 Tbsp
melted butter
1 tsp
vanilla
1/2 c
chopped walnuts or pecans

TOPPING

1/2 c
sugar
1/2 c
brown sugar
1/4 c
unsweetened cocoa powder
1 1/2 c
water

How to Make Chocolate Cobbler

Step-by-Step

  • 1Sift dry ingredients together into a deep dish large pie pan or dish.
  • 2Stir in milk, butter, vanilla, spread evenly.
  • 3Topping:
    mix sugars with cocoa and sprinkle over batter.
  • 4Pour water over all, do not mix.
  • 5Bake at 350 for 45 minutes on a cookie sheet to catch any drips.
  • 6Serve warm or cold with whipped cream or ice cream.
