I love trying things in restaurants then going home and makin my own version. I tried this at an Italian restaurant and couldn't wait to create them in my kitchen! The combination of the warm chocolate, caramel and cream cheese along with the cold vanilla ice cream is indescribable.

How to Make chocolate caramel puffs

Step-by-Step

  1. Cut pastry sheet into 4 inch squares.
  2. melt the caramels with the 2Tbsp. milk.
  3. Place 1Tbsp. of cream cheese in center of pastry square and 8-10 choc. chips.
  4. gently life the sides of the pastry square and put 2Tbsp. of the melted caramel over the cream cheese and chips.
  5. Press the four corners of the pastry square together till it is sealed up. Or you can gather them together and give it a twist (make a beggars purse).

  7. Serve these warm topped with vanilla ice cream and hot fudge or hot caramel topping.
