my boys, who are grown men now, used to love these treats and would sit and eat the whole pan in one sitting.

1 - unbeaten egg
1 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup self rising flour
1 cup chopped pecans

How To Make chewy pecan squares

Step 1

preheat oven to 350 degree. grease 8" square pan

Step 2

mix egg, brown sugar and vanilla until creamy add flour and mix. fold in pecans. Mixture will be thick
Step 3

spread in greased pan and bake for 18 - 20 minutes. cool and cut into squares and enjoy
