Mom had a different recipe than the traditional family recipe, this one takes much less time to make!

serves fills 24 cannoli shells

Ingredients For cannoli filling, mom's

  • 3
    rounds ricotta cheese
  • 2 1/2 c
    powdered sugar
  • 1/4 c
    semisweet chocolate chips
  • 2 Tbsp
    chopped citron
  • 10
    candied cherries, finely chopped
  • 1/2 tsp
  • 1 pkg
    pistachio nuts, chopped

How To Make cannoli filling, mom's

  • 1
    In large bowl with portable mixer, beat cheese 1 min. Add powdered sugar and beat light and creamy. Add chocolate, citron, cherries and cinnamon and beat on low speed until well blended. Refrigerate, covered, until well chilled. Just before serving, with teaspoon or small spatula, fill shells with filling. Garnish ends with nuts and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
